WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Veterans in Wichita are getting some help thanks to students across the state.
More than a dozen schools from the region collected supplies and donations for the Veterans Village of Wichita.
Twelve students from Chase County Junior Senior High School delivered them Tuesday afternoon.
"There’s so much that veterans have done for our country, and we really have unpayable debt for them and it makes us really proud to be able to help out in these situations," said Justin Kohlman, a student at Chase County.
While the students delivered the care packages, they were able to get to know the veterans living at the apartments and ask them about their service.
The youth is the future," said Cortez Martin, an Army Veteran. "So, without them actually seeing what it’s going to be like and seeing how things are like, I said it’s good to feel appreciated."
The donations were part of the Kansas Association for Youth.
