Combo League August 20, 2008 By Karen Jantz Just a reminder that the deadline to register a team for the 2008 USTA Combo League with a minimum of "6" players at the "appropriate" level, is Wednesday, August 27. Fellowship of Christian Athletics Tennis Play Night August 19, 2008 The Bossier schools FCA organization will be having a tennis play night at the Bossier Tennis Center on Saturday, September 6th from 8-11 pm.  Check back later for more details. Bossier School Team Tennis August 15, 2008 The Bossier Tennis Center is again offering team tennis for players of all levels at all schools in the area. Teams will be formed according to school, grade and skill level. The cost is $25 per player with three doubles teams per school team. The fee includes one team instructional clinic, practice days, court time, balls, t-shirts, awards and an end of season party. Combo League August 3, 2008 from Karen Jantz, League Coordinator The Combo Captains meeting will be Monday, August 11 at 6:00 p.m. at Southern Hills Tennis Center. Please plan to attend or send a team representative. Due to State Combo being held earlier this year, Adult Combo Nov 7-10 in New Orleans /Senior Combo Nov 14-16 in Monroe, the Combo season will run 8 weeks. I am suggesting that levels with 14 or more teams "must" be sub-divided into two groups and welcome your input on levels with 12+ teams sub-dividing since it is difficult to play 11 matches in 8 weeks. If this scenario presents itself, I will recommend starting that particular level the week of August 25.   The suggested nights for play are as follows:  5.5--Monday 6.5--Tuesday (10 teams last year) 7.5 and 5.0W--Thursday ( 9 women 5.0 last year) 8.5 and Senior--set own dates "due" 2 weeks after the Captain's meeting Super Seniors Tennis June 26, 2008 The 2008 Louisiana Super Senior Local/State tournament will be held in Slidell, LA on October 3-5, 2008.  Age levels are 60 and over and 70 and over at the 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 NTRP levels.  Teams can now be registered at TennisLink.  All locals teams will automatically advance to the State tournament in Slidell.  For more information, click here.
