NWLA CTA CITY CIRCUIT TOURNAMENT Please check in at the tournament after each match for your next match time.  All times listed after the first round are tentative until you check in at the desk.  ***All semi-final mixed matches will be scheduled Saturday afternoon - but -  In the interest of our players, we will not force anyone to play more than three matches in one day. This weekend Bossier will host the CTA City Circuit Tournament.  The deadline has been postponed due to the holiday.  Registrations will be taken until 6 p.m. Wednesday May 27th.  If you are in need of a partner, please call Elana at 213-2108 for information.  There are a few people still looking for partners for the weekend.  Ed Embry will be catering the pulled pork again!!!  Join us for a great weekend of tennis and fun.  Remember, the registration fee for the second event has been reduced to $15.  Congratulations and Best Wishes Megan and Michael Middlebrooks were married on Saturday May 16th, 2009.  We would like to send our wishes and prayers for a beautiful blessed life together.  Megan and Michael will be living in the Dallas area where Michael will be   Memorial Day Participants Thank you to all who participated in the Memorial Day Super Team Tennis.  It was a great day, and we appreciated all who helped make it a wonderful time for everyone there.  Special thanks go out to our new Head Pro David Robinson for making the Chili and to Paula Jones for bringing the dirty rice and mac & cheese.  Memorial Day Super Team Tennis Event: We will be holding a holiday social on Monday, Memorial Day May 25th.  All levels are welcome to participate.  The format will follow the PTB Fundraiser events.  Each player will be put on one of four teams.  The first 96 people to sign up will get to participate.  Everyone will play at least three eight game pro-sets of mixed and/or regular doubles.  Food and door prizes will be provided.  Come join the fun for a relaxing day of doubles.  Cost $10.00 per person. Summer Hours The Bossier Tennis Center is operating under our summer hours through Fall.               Monday - Friday     8 a.m. - 9 p.m.                   Saturday                 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.              Sundays                  11 a.m. - 8 p.m.   Congratulations to Matt Zachary the 2009 Boy's State 5A Singles Champion from Airline High School.  Matt won all of his matches at state in straight sets with a final victory over Comeaux's Craig Wiltz.  Congratulations also to the Airline boys team who finished 2nd overall in the 5A division.  Great job by the whole team and Coach Bonnie Cox. ATTENTION ALL MIXED DOUBLES CAPTAINS - There will be an informational  meeting Thursday May 7th at 6:00 p.m. at Eastridge Country Club.  If possible, please attend or send a representative from your team to pick up the information. Northwest Louisiana Senior Olympics Tournament March 30, 2009 The Northwest Louisiana Senior Olympics tennis tournament will be held April 13-16 at the Bossier Tennis Center.  The tournament is open to all players 50 and over.  Tournament level is for players who have entered this tournament in the past, regularly enter tournaments or have a USTA rating of 3.0 or better.  Re-entry level is for those who have a 2.5 ranking or have never entered this tournament or who have not entered any tournament in the last 12 months. Events will be:  singles, men and women's doubles and mixed doubles.  Age divisions are 50-54, 55-59, 60--64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-85, and 85 and above.  Players may enter only two divisions: one singles, and a doubles or two doubles.   The total cost is $15 which will cover all events including the other Senior Olympics non-tennis events.  Entry forms are available at all tennis facilities or you can download the entry form here.   For information about the tennis tournament, call Gerry Robichaux at 464-0271 or Elana Engleman at the Bossier Tennis Center at 213-2108. USTA Leagues Captains Meeting January 5, 2009 The Women's Captain Meeting will be held Jan 14th at East Ridge CC. The general meeting will start at 6:30 but there will be a short meeting for first time captains starting a 5:45. Teams must be registered on TennisLink by the time of the Captains meeting, January 14th.  Initial rosters are due on January 26.  Last day to add a player for Women is April 16. Last day to add a player for Seniors is March 27. All Scheduling will be done at the meeting. No Exceptions. Questions, call Dianne Mason at 458-6851. The Men's Captain's meeting will be held the 21st of January at East Ridge CC @ 6:30pm. Bossier Tennis Expansion - Shreveport Times Article January 1, 2009 The Shreveport Times  had an article in today's paper about 10 things to look forward to in the new year.  One was the expansion of Bossier parks.  Click here to read the article.   New Year's Day Social December 27, 2008 There will be a fun doubles tennis tournament to be held on Jan 1st beginning at 10 am at the Bossier Tennis Center.  The fee will be $5.00 for members and $10.00 for non-members.  Bring food if you wish, however food and door prizes will be provided.  Tennis balls will also be provided.  Please pass this information to other tennis players that you may know.  To enter, call the pro shop and let them know that you will be playing. Play Tennis Bossier Expansion Tournament Results November 3, 2008 Wow! Based on feedbacks from the players,  the tournament was a huge success.  With perfect weather, lots of good food, door prizes and competitive tennis, everyone had a great experience.   The tournament began with the the Adult play starting at 9:00 am, followed by a children clinic at 4:00 pm and wrapping up with grades 6 -12 at 7:00 pm.   The four adult teams competing were the Lobbers, Poachers, Smashers and Lovers.  Each team comprised of 11 men and 11 women.  The Poachers prevailed as the champions with the Lobbers close behind, but the main reason for the tournament was for everyone to have a good time and raise money for the expansion of the Bossier Tennis Center.   Click here for the draw and scores.   Photos of the tournament will be posted in a few days.
